It is a type of snack that is prepared by cutting potatoes into thin slices and frying them in oil. Most salt is used as an additive to flavor chips, but other spices such as pepper are also used to flavor it.

History

Chips were first made in 1853 by an African American chef named George Kram.
One day one of Kram's customers did not eat his French fries because they were thick. That's why Karam decided to make the potato slices so thin that there was no need to use a fork to eat them. His initiative was welcomed by the customer and other customers around him, and chips have been on the food list ever since.
